Do you love hanging out with fluffy friends? When you are in Vancouver, Catfe is your answer. The city's original Cat Cafe has been welcoming humans since 2015 and features a rotation of adoptable cats looking for their forever homes. Enter through the well-stocked store and browse the selection of cat-themed merchandise and toys for your feline friends at home before purchasing a drink or snack.
While you can walk in, it is always best to make a reservation beforehand to ensure you get your chance to hang out with the cats. Normal sessions are an hour long, and once inside, you have the ability to play with and pet the cats while you drink and eat. Regular special events such as short art classes, meowditation, and cat yoga also give you unique ways to spend time with the cats.
Although there are many cats who love to play, be respectful if they seem annoyed and don't pick them up. If you aren't familiar with cats, the friendly staff is happy to help out and teach you how to interact with them.
My favourite way to spend my hour is by picking up a catpuccino and reading the cute descriptions of the current cats calling the cafe their home before playing with them. I have also taken art classes there, which allow you to learn a new skill while the cats get into mischief all around you.
