Dog Mountain Vancouver – Hike for a sunny day

""Dog Mountain" in Vancouver and the path up it is a great hike to do on a sunny day, when the view from here is spectacular!"

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, all you have to do is hike :) The path up to Dog Mountain is a great hike to do on a sunny day, and the view from up there is spectacular! Whether you’re an experienced trekker or just up for a nice view of the city, please add this one to your to-do list.

Situated on Seymour Mountain, the path up to Dog Mountain is clearly marked, and although you climb over 1000 meters if you go up to its highest point, it’s not a dreaded, out of breath, uphill battle all the way there. In the winter, you’ll want to wear your snowshoes (although a few hikers venture out in their regular runners) and also, be ready for your hike to take a little bit longer. But do not let the snow discourage you, the trees may not be as green, but the view is just as gorgeous.

Although there is no public transit directly there, Seymour mountain has a shuttle that leaves Rupert station, and does a return trip for 15 dollars. You can also rent snowshoes during the winter, and there are guided tours if you'd prefer not to venture out on your own. It is, literally, for all walks of life.
