In a city overflowing with craft breweries, what makes Faculty Brewing different? For me, it’s the creative twists of classic beers. Instead of a typical ale, you could sip on a London fog ale, and rather than a regular ale, you could be sipping on a turmeric ale. Other current flavours on rotation include a tamarind cerveza and a raspberry lemon sour. For beer purists, don’t worry; there is a selection of classic beers. Current offerings also include an Oktoberfestbier and a Galaxy IPA.
It's also a space that is welcoming to non-drinkers, offering various flavours of local Oddity Kombucha brewed just across the street, such as hibiscus mint or a kombucha margarita. There are snacks available to purchase, such as Armenian string cheese, pepperoni, or truffle salted marcona almonds but you are welcome to bring your own take-out food into their taproom.
It’s a small and cosy thirty-seat space, so it can get rather crowded at times but it is worth for the chance to try unique flavours. There is a patio all year round, but when the weather gets nice my favourite place to sit is their seasonal sidewalk section.
