Truly a gem of a bakery, located in an industrial neighborhood near the Olympic Village and a host of breweries, but worth the trip. Organic, locally sourced and hand-made bread, pastries, pantry items and additional coffee shop make this a regular stop on my shopping trips.
I go for my favorites, the country bread makes amazing sandwiches: I use it for grilled cheese, their meatballs with overnight sauce and their get-there-early-to-get-them canelés. The canelés are to die for and their blueberry muffins for breakfast are just as good. Frankly, all the items I’ve tried I’ve gone back for seconds, thirds, fourths... I have further taken their breads and apple pie to family events and they have been a big hit.
If you can’t make it to the bakery early, do follow them on Instagram (@fifebakery) and order ahead of time via their link, as they sell out of everything fast and they also advertise special menu additions that do not show up on their website.
