During my first visit to Vancouver, Hadden Park Dog’s Beach was for sure in my top 5. Being a dog person, it just made sense to have a beach where you and your pooch could enjoy a nice sunny day together. I remember going there several times just to watch the dogs running around, they always seem to be having so much fun! And with the beautiful view of the North Shore mountains, it was just the perfect place for a summer hang-out.
After moving here, I will say I was surprised at how busy the beach is all year round. You see, where I come from, going to the beach is always associated with summer. But I guess dogs are oblivious to seasons, and will jump into the coldest of waters without thinking twice. Rain or shine, you’ll always see owners and their loyal companions out there.
For me, it is a nice change to the everyday walk my dogs and I are used to. I’ve also started noticing an increase of non-dog owners visiting the beach. They just show up with their coffees, relax, and laugh at the trouble the pups end up causing. I believe there's more of us that consider dog-watching a therapeutic activity. And Hadden Park Dog’s beach is the perfect place to do just that.
