A shop within a shop, Lucky’s Doughnuts is located inside 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters bringing together the classic pairing of coffee and doughnuts. However, these are no ordinary doughnuts. These are gourmet doughnuts made fresh on site throughout the day using high quality natural ingredients. All elements of the doughnut, from the jams to the glazes, are made from scratch using as many local ingredients as possible. This commitment to quality and seasonality can really be tasted in these doughnuts.
The doughnuts available in the display cases vary with each visit, but every one I’ve tried has been deliciously well balanced and not too sweet. For peanut butter lovers, pick up a PB&J which is filled with these spreads. Otherwise, I usually go for creme brulee or a salted caramel. Not to mention the classic old fashioned is always a good choice as well. However, with the quality ingredients, comes a price to match as each costs more than the average mass-produced treat.
The cafe can be busy and snagging a seat may be difficult. The room is warm and the staff is friendly making Lucky’s a great place to stop for a treat any time of the day.
