Meinhardt Fine Foods is a great place to visit for a quick lunch or some top quality snacks. It’s unassuming from the outside, and many people don’t realize it’s more than just a grocery store. Meinhardt is located right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, easily accessible if you’re shopping on Robson or taking a walk along the waterfront. Meinhardt is made up of a couple different sections: the buffet section, the salad, sandwiches and pastry section, and the refrigerated goods section.
I’m usually not a fan of buffet-style meals, but theirs is my go-to for an affordable, delicious lunch. Little do many people realize that they have some of the best Indian food in the downtown area! Their meal options are veggie-friendly as well: my favourite picks are the chana masala and eggplant dhal. You pay for goods from the buffet and salad sections by weight, but they also have a delicious array of refrigerated goods from the Meinhardt brand. If you’re not looking for a meal, they also carry a lot of different gourmet snacks and drinks. I’d definitely recommend dropping by if you’re in the area!
