Back in the day, Triumph street in East Van wasn’t necessarily a go-to spot for many. But with local breweries taking the scene by storm, it is now one of the coolest hangouts on the east side. All that because of Parallel 49 Brewing Company. Talk about the road less traveled!
One of my favorite things about Parallel 49 is that it has its own food truck inside. Basically, it offers the best of both worlds! So, as you’re sampling their tasty beers, you can pair them with ginger fried rice, a juicy lamb sausage, or crispy cauliflower. (My suggestions, of course). They also have brunch on weekends, so if that’s your thing, keep Parallel 49 in mind.
The beer list is long, caters to most tastes, and has really good names. “Victorious Secret” and “Toques of Hazzard” for example, are not even my favorites but I have them anyway every time I’m there, just because they make me laugh.
Also, their drinks display is something out of an airport. As you read through, you can’t help but feel you’re looking for your flight gate, it’s really quite amusing.
