The natural beauty of Vancouver has the tendency to draw people from all over the world and once they arrive it is unlikely that they will ever want to leave. This is how Vancouver captured Thomas Haas, a world renowned master pastry chef who is carrying on a family legacy of creating some of the finest delicacies in the world.
Thomas Haas is a pastry chef of celebrity status. Throughout his illustrious career he has travelled all over the world, appeared on the Martha Stewart show numerous times and had the opportunity to work with some of the most elite restauranteurs in North America. He has now rooted his talents here in Vancouver where he ensures that the locals are able to indulge in some of the best pastries and chocolates in the world.
When you enter the cafe Thomas himself stands out immediately, he is genuinely friendly and welcoming. He glows like a man who has found his purpose and spends every single day of his life doing what he loves. This passion is abundantly displayed in the cornucopia of pastries he prepares fresh every single day. The macrons are delightful and the cakes are fantastic. My recommendation is the pistachio cake, it is light, fluffy and subtly flavored.
Local Tip: The cafe also serves up Moja Coffee which is one of the best coffee roasters in Vancouver (check the Moja Coffee article).
