bio&bio cafe Zagreb

Organic inspiration

Tamara from Zagreb

About me I was born but not raised in Zagreb and moved back to the city in 2010 when I started my university studies. I finished my Master’s degree in Education and Sociology in the meantime and am currently working for an NGO as a project manager and youth worker. While education is my main professional interest, in my free time I love balancing out the pragmatism of my day-job...
""bio&bio cafe" in Zagreb offers organic and vegan coffee creations along with salty and sweet snacks to go. I love coming here after my dance classes..."

Although we Zagrebers love our coffee and there are countless coffee shops all around town, the organic coffee movement is only in its beginnings. Same goes for vegetarian and vegan snacks or take-out food. bio&bio has had other healthy food stores open around town, but the shop at the entrance to the Octagon is the first one to offer organic and vegan coffee creations along with salty and sweet snacks to go. You can also decide to stay and enjoy them calmly at the long table along the large window while watching the passengers on Ilica street go by. Many of the products available are handmade and grown on the Zrno Eko farm close to Zagreb that also provides the ingredients for the vegan Zrno bio bistro.

I love to cross the street and stop by bio&bio cafe after dance classes in ZPC when I'm without a clue what to have for dinner. Luckily bio&bio cafe is the first one on my way home, before a row of kiosks selling fries and pizza. Usually I fall for the chia pudding with vanilla to take away and enjoy while lazily walking home.

Zagreb Spotter Tamara

About me I was born but not raised in Zagreb and moved back to the city in 2010 when I started my university studies. I finished my Master’s degree in Education and Sociology in the meantime and am currently working for an NGO as a project manager and youth worker. While education is my main professional interest, in my free time I love balancing out the pragmatism of my day-job with reading, philosophy and expressing myself through writing and music. If I had the time, I’d spend all my money on travel and activities in the outdoors. Why Zagreb Although it...

Roman relics in the center

Zagreb is supposed to have been founded in the Middle Ages, but just to the south there used to be Roman Andautonia. These three relics are so fascinating!
