Cafe De Wetering invites you in for a good talk with a good friend. I never come here to party – it’s the intimate atmosphere that appeals to me here. Especially in wintertime it’s a good place to go – small, cozy, and with a great fireplace. A rough wooden floor, rough brick walls.. It looks a bit worn down, but that just adds up to the atmosphere. A basic mix between pretty Dutch, and pretty Irish.
There is not much of a lunch or dinner menu, only small snacks to accompany the drinks. It surely is a place for a drink and a talk, and if you come here for the atmosphere and a glass of wine or a beer in a real locals’ pub, you will surely have a good time at Cafe De Wetering.
It’s really mostly locals here – a neighborhood bar. A special one, because it feels like home – like time is something that’s happening outside. If I want to stay inside, but change the telly for a talk with a friend and a fireplace – that’s where I’m going.
See the tall blonde guy in the middle – that is Bart. The beloved founder of Spotted by Locals. But don’t tell anyone ;).
