Vegan Beat -- the name says it all. There's little else you need to know about this spot, if the name makes you turn your head as it did for me.
Still, it was an exceedingly happy accident that I got to hear about this little place from a Slovak friend who also quite accidentally ran into it.
My first time there I had already had lunch so I got a vegan cake and asked for a freddo in my reusable/metal straw cup, and that got me talking with super-enthusiastic, happy owner and main man Alexandros with whom we hit it off from the beginning.
Their signature burger is also really good, and I've heard great things about the gyros. Maybe you can try that for me when you're there.
And here I was, wondering whether vegan feta was even possible. Well, that one's solved. ;)
Note: They've moved to Perikleous 56 that also has seating outside. I have to admit, I preferred their older mezzanine closer to Monastiraki, but the times they are a-changing.
