The thing about cities like Barcelona is that some areas can get so crowded sometimes that you decide to avoid them altogether. I used to do that too, but now I have decided to embrace it and instead try to find little corners in the midst of all the chaos. In a neighbourhood like Sagrada Familia it can be even harder, because everything is too touristy. That's why last year I found Acuari and it became my go-to bar in the area.
It is a simple bar, it is not pretty nor does it have any cool decor but it is really comfortable. Somehow you can always find a spot to sit outside even though it is liteally one block away from Sagrada Familia. For me, as a smoker, it earns its extra points because sometimes it is impossible to find that. The prices are so cheap that me and my friends call it the cheapest bar in Barcelona. The drink options are pretty simple, like beer and wine so don't expect anything too elaborate, but I think overall it is a great place to meet with friends and catch up.
