Razzmatazz is considered by many locals as the best music club in Barcelona – I get that; I think so too. An incredibly long list of well-known bands, singers and DJs have performed in this iconic venue since it first opened in 2000. Bands such as Arcade Fire, Blur, Aphex Twin, Oasis, Wolf Alice, Black Honey and Dusky have played here.
It has five rooms, each hosting a different style of music that goes from indie rock to techno. Razzmatazz is also well known for being the biggest club in Barcelona, with a capacity of 3,200. There are two terraces on the roof where people can go smoke, chat or just refresh themselves after dancing. Also, they have two smaller concert rooms on the same block, Razz 2 and Razz 3, which are only used for gigs.
If you follow them on Facebook, you can save yourself a few euros on the price of a ticket as they often post a flyer which gives admission for just €10.
'Why Razzmatazz?' It comes from a song with the same title by britpop band, Pulp.
Obviously, being such a popular venue, you'll find a few good bars nearby where you can get a drink before partying such as L'Ovella Negra.
Every time I've been here it's been completely worth it. I can assure you that it is one of the best places to enjoy the night scene in Barcelona. I highly recommend going on weekends, when it will be more lively.
