Summer is a fleeting thing, especially in Brussels. Therefore, when the sun is shining, we get out and enjoy it! To do so, I like to hang out in Abbaye de la Cambre like my fellow spotters, tour the Ixelles pounds, and stop by Cones, one of the best ice cream makers in town (in my humble opinion).
The owners are a lovely Belgo-Argentinian couple who will serve you with kindness in their retro-looking shop. Other than the proximity to parks and ponds that might explain the constant inter-generational line-up, I believe it's the funky ice cream flavours and truly delicious ice cream that attract the crowds. Indeed, they have flavours like sweet potato, corn, ginger or beetroot sorbets, and for the Argentina touch, yerba maté, dulce de leche... But don't be scared; they also have the classic chocolates/vanilla, and they're all delicious.
If you are feeling adventurous, go wild! In any case, you can't go wrong with Cones. My personal recommendations are "canelle miel" and "mascarpone fruits des bois", and to try their warm waffles with a scoop when the weather gets cooler (which shouldn't stop us from going out for ice cream and the last rays of warmth before the long winter months...).

The Perché rooftop bar is on top of the JAM hotel, which is why not many people wander up here, but it's so worth it! It has a great view and comfy chairs.
