Hogganfield Park is part of The Seven Lochs Wetland Park. I have been living in Glasgow since 2014 and I only discovered this hidden gem recently. I usually go to Alexandra Park, my local park for runs and walks, however, one sunny day (rare in Glasgow) I decided to explore a little further and started walking northeast from Alexandra Park and I reached Hogganfiled Park after a 30 minutes walk.
The park is part of a larger network of 7 ancient lochs originated 12000 years ago!
It has over 10 miles of routes to explore and loads of activities! It’s also the home of many habitats, nature and wildlife. It used to be an industrial area and it is being developed to become the largest Scottish urban nature and heritage park.
Since my first visit, I have been coming back to feed the swans and go on runs around the park. It’s the perfect spot for runs since the route around the lake is marked with distance poles!
