The Center Of Contemporary Art in Podgorica is a national cultural institution that has existed since 1995. The program implements the realization of events in the field of visual arts. Through exhibitions, they bring contemporary art closer to the audience.
The Center has four exhibition areas, three in the same area as the winter residence of the last king of Montenegro, Nikola. It's Petrovic castle, Perjanic Lodge, and the Club gallery. They also have the ''Center'' gallery, in the very center of the city. They are very active, usually with one exhibition per month, and sometimes with two. On the other hand, they are known to surprise, e.g. with body art or a fashion show, which I really loved.
Right now, they have a very interesting exhibition of old African and Asian old pieces from their collection.
Anyway, coming to our city and not finding something interesting in those gallery spaces is not an option. Feel free to find out which local or international artist has a current presentation and invest some time for your visit. You will not be disappointed.
