Podgorica is a city that has five rivers going through it. The biggest one is Moraca, which used to be known for its nice beaches, and Galeb beach was the most popular one. During the '80s and '90s, this beach was often crowded by local people who were swimming in the cold waters of Moraca. However, people started going to the seaside more often, surrounding architectural work influenced the level of the river, and nowadays you can hardly see anyone on the beach…
But given the fact that it is at the very city center, but away from all of the hustle, some people still consider it a pleasant meeting place just for chilling, having a picnic, or just lying in the sun. Podgorica summer nights can get quite warm and humid, and because of the closeness of the water, the temperature gets much nicer here, even a bit chilly. That's why I also find it as a nice place for having a beer in the summer nights, close to the water and with the nice view of Podgorica bridges. And given the fact that Podgorica is quite sunny town, this beach can also be a nice destination during mild winter days.
