Montenegro is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society, with a rich history of many different peoples and foods. As Turkish influence was prevalent for almost 300 years, that influence was also carried over onto Montenegrin cuisine. That’s why you’ll find a lot of places serving so-called Balkan food, which takes a lot of inspiration from the colorful Turkish cuisine, and this place is no different.
Šiš ćevap is a popular dish, or to be more precise a (homemade) sandwich with minced meat sausages, which are delicately put on sticks. However, in this fast food shop they give it a little twist, where the meat is the same, but prepared together to form an almost rectangular-like patty. But, the style or way of presentation doesn’t really matter, as this dish has a very delicious taste, which you can enhance with the large variety of sides.
I prefer it to be as spicy and hot as possible, and I have to say that šiš ćevap is even better if it has a hot nuance. And, of course, this is great comfort food, especially after a night out.
They have also a wide choice of more conventional meals like sandwiches and grilled meat, but you won’t go wrong if you just take the main dish.
