Cafe Katto opened in 2020 on the rooftop of the old red brick Finlayson building, just in the city center of Tampere. The outdoor terrace of this likable cafe is a perfect place to have a chill glass of sparkling wine during a sunny and warm summer day.
While sipping the wine you can admire the awesome views over the roofs of the city. From the terrace, you can spot some gorgeous architectural gems of the city like the main fire station and the Cathedral. The Tammerkoski rapids flow just by the building so it is the perfect place to enjoy the blue water and white sparks of it.
Cafe Katto has its own roof garden as well as a small separate observation deck. There is also the entrance to the Rooftop Walk of Finlayson, an hour-long walk on the roofs of old industrial buildings.
Cafe Katto has become extremely popular among locals. For non-locals, the entrance of it is quite difficult to find. You will never end up there by accident! The entrance of Cafe Katto is inside the Siperia building, basically in a dark corner in it. There you can find both the elevators and stairs which both go to Cafe Katto. If having problems, at least by asking you will find it!
