This atelier is a wonderful place to join a printing workshop or find an original handmade art gift.
Valencia has more to offer than just its attractions. If you want to try new experiences and meet locals, Ruzafa is an interesting neighbourhood. There are many open workshops and studios, but the Valencia Print Workshop is the one I like most.
In the Valencia Print Workshop, you can learn print techniques like screen printing, linocuts, etching, and bookbinding. Screen printing is a manual method that uses a mesh frame to print on paper or textiles like bags and t-shirts. At the end of a workshop, you'll leave with your own unique prints or handmade notebooks.
Mar Rubio, the owner, teaches with a friendly and professional approach. She provides weekly introductory classes and, along with guest teachers, covers specific topics such as creating plant-based paints. No artistic experience is required, and lessons are offered in both Spanish and English. See Instagram for schedules and upcoming events.
You can also use the studio more intensively as a member or as an artist in residence. Check the website for more information.
A little shop offers handmade printed gifts, such as prints, books, shirts and bags. It's the perfect place to find an original souvenir from Valencia.
For more unique things in Ruzafa, head to Kowalski, where you'll discover a quirky mix of vintage and art pieces. Be sure to visit Novedades Casino and the Sporting Club gallery. You can read more about it here and here.
