Dolce Amore has the best gelato I have tasted in Canada. The current owners attended the Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy and it is evident that they know what they are doing. The company is focused on using local ingredients and organic products when possible, and you can really taste the quality.

My favourite year round gelato flavours are hazelnut, pistachio, and tipsy tiramisu. Monthly flavours rotate – among the current seasonal offerings are blueberry honey and lavender buzz.

They even have a dedicated affogato bar that lets you customize your affogato with whichever ice cream you want and you can even add a shot of liquer. If you aren’t sure what to do, they have signature combinations you can choose from.

Other than gelato and affogato, they offer coffee, cookies, some ice cream bars, and other deserts. There is limited seating in their small but stylish cafe and a couple of tables outside.

Every time I leave, I am planning my next trip back to try something else.
