I feel like I'm walking in India when I visit Fraser street, so it this street is in my opinion the Little India of Vancouver, with streets full of authentic Indian restaurants, Indian sweets and grocery stores. Not just Indian food, but also some other family-run Asian restaurants. What you can find here is pretty much small restaurants that cannot afford to rent downtown!
Fraser street from 41st Avenue to the 29th Avenue is the busy Indian part of Vancouver. There are not many pubs around here, but there is a plenty of opportunity to eat at one of the Indian restaurants and shop for some colourful clothes.
This place is located little far from downtown, but you can reach it by taking the Canada line skytrain or a direct bus from downtown (slower).
Some of my favorite places along Fraser street are Dhaliwal Sweets (really good Indian sweets & North Indian food), Madras Spice (good South Indian food) and Breka Bakery and Cafe.
Come here if you want to get some authentic takes of Indian food or go shopping.
