Nestled away on the banks of the Fraser River, with an amazing view of the planes landing at YVR International Airport you can sit on one of two patios (inside is awesome too) while eating amazing food and drinking cold beer from a variety of local breweries. While the patios aren’t used as regularly, locals, in true Vancouver fashion will take any break in the rain and sit outside with the heaters.
It takes a bit of help from your GPS if you are not familiar with the Marpole area but with a little help you will find the Milltown Marina off Bentley St., home of the Milltown Bar & Grill. For such an out of the way place it’s usually bustling, most likely due to the great atmosphere and fabulous dishes. Their grilled Brussel sprouts are a must have. Trust that these are not the over steamed sprouts you find at Christmas dinner but tender, flavourful sprouts with Parmesan cheese and bacon. The baked herbed goat cheese with marinara sauce served with freshly baked baguettes is also a favourite and big enough to share while the halibut tacos combine light blackened fish with crunchy coleslaw and a snap of chipotle aioli. The pricing is comparable to other pubs in Vancouver and they always have daily specials and local beers changing on tap all the time.
