Tacofino began their legacy as a simple fish taco truck in the surfing community of Tofino and have rapidly grown to 3 trucks and 4 restaurants. My relationship with their phenomenal food started when I stumbled across this magnificent commissary while getting a coffee at Platform 7 (check the Platform 7 article).
Tacofino assembles the best tuna tacos in Vancouver - it is jam packed with soy, sesame ginger, wasabi and whatever else they fill it with to make it so incredibly delicious. I also made a point of exploring their wide variety of vegetarian burritos and tacos and was completely consumed with delight while devouring the cauliflower taco.
Although the fish and vegetarian tacos are legendary the most magnificent taco comes in the form of the grilled wagyu steak taco. This meaty magnificence envelops my taste buds every time I indulge. On a Friday night this is my go to place for a growler of beer and some tacos. Definitely check out their selection of local craft draft while enjoying the best taco in BC.
Final note: if it is your first time in, you need to try the fish taco, this is where the journey began and it is still incredible.
"Hawkers Delight" has been an institution in Vancouver as long as I can remember. If you want to eat like a local- order the elusive 9b. It's a secret item.
