My mandatory stop when biking home from the beach. If you’re on the southeast side of the seawall, then The Wicklow Pub should be on your route. It is where folks that live around Stamps Landing gravitate towards, which makes The Wicklow the definition of a local pub.
With a patio that overlooks False Creek all the way to Granville Bridge, it is the perfect spot to take a break and have a nice cold drink and/or meal. As long as it is nice outside, their patio is open. And they have blankets and outdoor heaters, so don’t let the cold keep you from appreciating the beautiful view. If you’re there in the summer time, then a sangria would be my gift to you!
Happy Hour is 3-6pm daily, with discounts on most drinks, and 5 dollar small plates. They also serve great chicken wings, and if you’re a seafood fan, then I definitely suggest the Tuna Saku salad. It is refreshing and even more tasty than it looks! The Halibut & Chips also hit the spot. All their food is from local, sustainable sources.
I love how friendly the staff and the people are; it just adds to the welcoming vibe. You can’t help but feel drawn in when you walk by there.
