Good music shops are always hard to find, and Spin Vinyl is one of those kinds. The name says it all: it is vinyl heaven. A little shop situated between Ristanc and Tojeto has an enormous archive of vinyl discs from the early ages and on. It has practically everything from rock of the 60s and 70s Doors, Floyds, Beatles, Stones, Purples, Zeppelins, Velvets, and others to jazz, alternative, pop, hard & heavy rhythms, reggae, ska and of course Yugoslavian rock and pop music, not to mention all those 21st century bands who release their LPs. In the store you can get also CDs, badges, posters, books.. It’s definitely enough to browse through all afternoon.
The dealers are kind, willing to help and fluent in English (an advantage for you Non-Slovenians). I visit them often, but mostly to browse through material, and with not much money in my pocket so I’m not tempted of course! There were times when I’d leave the store with Blakey, Davis and Getz under my arm. Next time with Waits, SigurRos, theXx. Temptation is a cruel and bitter thing, so beware music lovers and passersby. Check their website to get excited. Recently they also started selling an album of the group Salonski where I played ukulele.
