A friend of mine told me about this restaurant a long time ago and that they would offer fresh Vietnamese summer rolls, which is my favorite and "I could eat every day" food. Unfortunately you hardly get them in Cologne so I knew I had to try those out whenever I was around "Chlodwigplatz", where Zhing Sam is located. It is kind of hard to find because it is a bit away and in between two other shops with bigger and more flashy signs.
Anyways, if you are there it is totally worth it. Besides these incredibly delicious and fresh summer rolls, which you can either order to roll yourself or order pre-rolled (as a starter), there is a huge variation of any kind of Southeast Asian food, such as different kinds of starters, curries, papaya salads or fried rice or noodles. Although I mostly choose to eat meat whenever I go out for dinner I like to order the fried tofu dish with vegetables in peanut sauce (Paneng Pak Tau Huu, V5) the most.
Next to their aromatic dishes Zhing Sam has a good selection of exotic and fruity cocktails and long-drinks that make you feel like you're on holiday whenever you sit outside in summer but also even when you are inside in winter time.
