If you're a fan of independent music, you'd be daft to visit Glasgow without spending some time in Mono, a veritable institution in the city centre. Not only does this fantastic venue offer delicious food and drink, it also has an outstanding in-house record shop, renowned the world over.
Tucked away in King's Court on King Street, the atmosphere in the big open space is laid back to the point of falling over. There's a good selection of snacks and meals, all food is free from animal produce and they were voted best vegetarian restaurant for the second year running at the UK Vegfest awards 2014.
Check out the website for details of food deals (2 pizzas for a tenner on a Monday!) and live music events. It's a favourite venue of the city's best-loved musicians.
