While it feels a little morbid to be walking in a large cemetery like the Kalevankangas cemetery, it is quite serene and scenic throughout the year. The highest vantage point of the cemetery, aptly named the Lookout (Näköalapaikka), is no different.
The Lookout is situated towards the back of the Kalevankangas cemetery, on the hill behind the Tombs of Heroes (Sankarihaudat) area, among various trees, shrubs and other plants. While it is not as high up as the Pyynikki Observation Tower or Näsinneula, it still gives a good overview of the surrounding neighborhood.
This is a perfect place if you want a quiet moment for yourself, to breathe in some fresh air and empty your mind. No matter what time of the year and what weather it is, be it a sunny summer day, or a snowy winter one, you will be able to find a little peace on this hill.
