Welcome to Kaukajärvi lake and sauna! It really is one the best saunas in Tampere. Kaukajärvi lake is situated about 8 kilometres from the city centre and it is absolutely worth of the trip. There is a bus stop right next to the sauna and lake, so it is easy to access.
Kaukajärvi lake is a really clear water lake, so it is possible to see e.g. crayfish while you are supboarding there. In the summertime, you can rent SUP boards or boats and it is really cheap - SUP boards cost only 8 euros/hour and a boat 4 euros/hour.
Kaukajärvi sauna is open all year round, all you need is a swimsuit, a towel and flip-flops. If you go in the wintertime, take a beanie with you as well! You can go swimming in the lake even though it is -15 degrees outside, but be fast! Afterwards back to the sauna and I guarantee, you will feel absolutely wonderful!
