One of those places in Barcelona that I keep going back to every once in a while is Yatai, a Japanese restaurant located in Eixample Esquerra.
Yatai means “little stall” in Japanese, as it started as a small take-away restaurant where they would sell ramen and other hot dishes. Yatai Restaurant will bring you closer to Japanese culture and gastronomy from the moment you walk inside.
Every time I have taken friends there, they have started taking pictures of the environment, as every detail is really taken care of! Anime and otaku freaks will really enjoy seeing figures of Doraemon and other Japanese cartoons.
However, the best part of Yatai is always when the food appears. I always begin with some starters (okonomiyaki gyozas are the best!) and have a main dish, which is usually Karei Raisu (Japanese curry that is home-cooked for 5 hours!) or Okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza). I haven’t been to Japan myself, but apparently Yatai’s flavours take you there!
Tip: Leave some space for dessert! :)
