Just next to the principal Cathedral of the city, the Duomo, in via santa Radegonda 16 (the name of the street) you can find a small place, really well known by locals and usually frequented almost only by them, where you can buy some "panzerotti" take away. The panzerotto is a sort of little fried (there are even those made in the oven) rolled pizza, so the shape is like that of a sandwich completely closed that has a filling inside.
The taste is quite different from pizza, but the ingredients are the same. Therefore you'll find inside the panzerotto tomato, mozzarella cheese, and then you can choose if you want that with inside meat (salame, spicy salame, prosciutto...) or vegetables (there are even some which are vegans). The panzerotto is very cheap: the price goes from 3.20 to 3.50 euros, and despite the price, the quality is so high. And that makes this place one of the most loved by locals. The spot is so small, there's no place to stay inside, it's just take away. By the way, I suggest you to take your panzerotto and eat it in front of the Cathedral of Duomo there nearby.
